In recent years, fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites based on thermoplastic
resins have developed rapidly, leading to a worldwide upsurge in the research and
development of such high-performance composites. Thermoplastic composite materials
refer to composite materials made from thermoplastic polymers such as polyethylene (PE),
polyamide (PA), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), polyetherimide (PEI), polyetherketone ketone
(PEKK), and polyetherketone (PEEK), with various continuous/discontinuous fibers (such as
carbon fibers, glass fibers, aramid fibers, etc.) as reinforcing materials.
Thermoplastic resin based composites mainly include long fiber reinforced granular material (LFT)
continuous fiber reinforced prepreg MT and glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites (CMT).
According to different usage requirements, the resin matrix includes thermoplastic engineering
plastics such as PPE. PAPRT, PELPCPES, PEEKPI, PA, and other fiber types, including all possible
fiber types such as glass dried vinylon fiber and boron vinylon. With the maturation of thermoplastic
resin based composite technology and the development of recyclability, this variety of composite
materials has developed rapidly. In developed countries in Europe and the United States, thermal
bonding materials have accounted for more than 30% of the total amount of tree based composite materials.
